The Stonehorse Band Members
Gerald Timmerman - Lead Singer and Bassist
Born and raised in the heart of the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma, singer/songwriter and composer, writing songs about life one note at a time as he would say Gerald started singing at the age of 5. He learned to play guitar by age 11 and has been active performing, writing and recording country music ever since. Gerald was a member of two popular Oklahoma based bands, Denim and Pearls and Gone Country. He now makes his home in PA and has performed with several local bands including Frontier and The White Oak Band. During his musical career he has opened for country artists Craig Morgan, Allison Kraus, Marty Stewart and others.
Gary Urbanek - Drums
A Pittsburgh native, has been with the Stonehorse Band since February 2017. Beginning at an early age Gary took drum lessons from Thomas LaFlame at Drums in Crafton and has spent over 50 years behind this exact set of drums entertaining music fans across Western Pennsylvania with several bands. In his younger days with the Suburbans and the Rocco Sisters; later with the Diamond Band and Stagecoach. He loves jamming with 'old' friends each Wednesday at the American Legion in Carnegie. Gary is thrilled to be reunited with high school band rival, Stu.
Rich - Steel Guitar
Rich bought his first guitar when the Beatles came out. He thought that looked like a pretty good way to make a living. He began playing in bands for his Jr. High dances and still jokes, "I played Mustang Sally in 1965". After a brief one semester stint at Berklee, he dropped out to play the Hotel Showband circuit full time. In 1979, he was hired as Guitar Ensemble director at the newly formed Pittsburgh CAPA and is still currently on staff in that same position. At the same time he began playing in numerous Jazz and R & B Groups in the Pittsburgh area and in 1995 drove to Nashville to purchase his first Pedal Steel Guitar. After some serious wood shedding he began playing in some local country bands and in 2006 landed the Steel Guitar chair in Pittsburgh CLO's production of Always Patsy Cline. After a great 6 month run and 167 performances he went on to play with a number of local Singer Songwriters and Bands including Jay Hitt, Christian Tritsch, Michael Christopher, The Mavens, Ruff Creek and The Flying Dutchmen. Rich is very pleased to be the latest member of The Stonehorse Band.
